This LASER Level 3 Certificate for Forest School Leaders (RQF) is ideal for those ready to take their skills further and lead sessions for all age groups.

What you will learn on the course

This in-depth training blends practical outdoor skills with child development theory. You will learn how to deliver engaging, child-led sessions while building confidence and independence in participants.

The course follows Forest School principles and prepares you to set up and run your own programme. You will cover planning, delivery and evaluation, alongside essential leadership skills.

You will also complete a mandatory mentoring visit, where you plan and deliver a series of Forest School sessions with professional support.

Training takes place at Swanwick Lakes Nature Reserve, offering a hands-on learning environment.

First Aid training:
9 & 10 November 2026 (9:00am – 6:00pm)

Skills days:
16 & 17 March 2027

Sessions typically run from 9:30am to 4:30pm unless stated otherwise.

Swanwick Lakes is a 35-hectare nature reserve located between Southampton and Fareham. Once a clay pit, it is now a thriving mix of woodland, lakes and meadows.

It provides the perfect setting for Forest School training, with real outdoor environments that support hands-on learning.
