Whether you are completely new to pottery, looking to refine existing skills or simply prefer one-to-one learning, this private workshop provides dedicated guidance from an experienced instructor. With no distractions and a session built around your pace, you can enjoy a rewarding pottery experience that focuses on your individual goals.

Perfect for beginners and experienced potters alike, these private lessons offer the opportunity to build confidence and develop practical wheel throwing skills in a welcoming studio setting.

Learn Wheel Throwing with Expert Guidance

During your private pottery session, you will receive hands-on instruction tailored to your experience level.

Beginners can learn the foundations of wheel throwing, including clay preparation, centring, shaping and forming pottery on the wheel. More experienced potters can focus on refining techniques, improving consistency and tackling more advanced forms.

With expert guidance throughout the session, you will have the freedom to ask questions, practise specific techniques and develop your skills at a pace that works for you.

The personalised format allows for faster progression and a deeper understanding of the pottery-making process.

Create Handmade Pottery You'll Be Proud Of

One of the most enjoyable aspects of a private pottery lesson is creating your own unique ceramic pieces.

Throughout the workshop, you will shape clay into functional and decorative forms while developing confidence on the pottery wheel. Your finished work will be professionally fired and glazed, allowing you to enjoy your handmade creations once they are ready for collection.

Every piece you create is unique, making your pottery a lasting reminder of your time in the studio.

A Calm and Supportive Learning Environment

Many people choose private pottery workshops because they offer a quieter and more focused experience.

Without the pressure of larger group sessions, you can fully immerse yourself in the creative process and receive uninterrupted support from your instructor. This makes private tuition ideal for those who enjoy learning independently or prefer a more relaxed environment.

The session is designed to be enjoyable, encouraging and suitable for all abilities.

Personalise Your Pottery with Decorative Finishing

For those who want to take their creations a step further, Fatclay offers optional decorating opportunities.

You can return to the studio to add texture, handles and decorative details to your pottery before the final glazing process. This allows you to create pieces that truly reflect your own style and creativity.

Whether you choose a simple finish or a more detailed design, your pottery will become even more personal and unique.
