What is Rock Up Climbing Academy?

Rock Up Climbing Academy is more than simply an after-school climbing session.

The programme introduces children to essential climbing skills and safety techniques while encouraging them to become more confident and capable climbers.

Children work through the NICAS Clip programme during their course, giving their weekly activity a clear sense of progression and achievement.

The programme also aims to develop confidence, teamwork skills and overall wellbeing, making it an interesting option for parents searching for active after-school clubs near Fareham and Southampton.

Try a Climbing Academy Taster Session

Not sure whether Climbing Academy is right for your child?

Rock Up also offers Climbing Academy Taster Sessions, giving children the opportunity to experience a session before committing to the complete course.

The taster introduces children to the Rockstars NICAS Academy environment and is particularly useful for beginner climbers who haven't attended a structured climbing class before.

Check Rock Up's current booking page for the next available taster dates, as these are offered at selected times throughout the year.

Why choose climbing as an after-school activity?

Climbing combines physical and mental challenges.

Children need to think about their route, solve problems and decide how to tackle each challenge. At the same time, they're developing climbing techniques and becoming more confident in their own abilities.

For families searching for things to do in Hampshire beyond traditional sports clubs, the Climbing Academy offers something a little different.
And because Rock Up Whiteley is indoors, sessions aren't dependent on the Hampshire weather.
