Looking for a unique experience on the water? The Hamble Taster Experience with Wetwheels Hamble offers the perfect introduction to accessible boating, combining peaceful river cruising with the thrill of high-speed adventure on Southampton Water.

Departing from Mercury Yacht Harbour, this unforgettable experience allows people of all ages and abilities to enjoy Hampshire's beautiful coastline in a safe, welcoming and fully inclusive environment.

Whether you're trying boating for the first time or simply looking for an exciting day out, The Hamble Taster Experience offers the perfect blend of relaxation, adventure and spectacular scenery.

Cruise the Beautiful River Hamble

Your journey begins with a gentle cruise along the picturesque River Hamble, one of Hampshire's most famous waterways. As you travel downstream, you'll pass the charming village of Hamble, its bustling marinas and impressive collection of yachts before continuing towards the waterfront village of Warsash on the opposite bank.

This peaceful section of the trip offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy the stunning surroundings, watch local wildlife and take in the beauty of one of the UK's most popular sailing destinations.

Feel the Excitement of Southampton Water

As you reach the mouth of the River Hamble, the adventure changes pace. Leaving the speed-restricted river behind, the boat accelerates into Southampton Water for an exhilarating high-speed run across open water.

Feel the excitement as you experience the power of the specially adapted vessel before returning to the calm waters of the River Hamble for a relaxing cruise back to the marina.

This combination of gentle cruising and faster boating creates an unforgettable experience that appeals to both first-time visitors and returning guests.

Accessible Adventures for Everyone

Wetwheels Hamble is committed to making boating available to everyone. The specially adapted powerboat features full wheelchair access and adapted steering controls, allowing many participants the opportunity to experience driving the boat under the guidance of the experienced crew.

The aim is simple. Leave disabilities on the shore and create an experience where participants, families and carers can enjoy quality time together while making lasting memories.

No previous boating experience is needed, and every trip is tailored to ensure everyone feels safe, comfortable and included.

Experience the Benefits of Blue Health

Time spent on the water can have a positive impact on both physical and mental wellbeing. Often referred to as Blue Health, being close to rivers and the sea has been linked to reduced stress, improved confidence, stronger social connections and an increased sense of wellbeing.

The Hamble Taster Experience offers far more than an exciting boat trip. It provides an opportunity to relax, reconnect with nature and enjoy the uplifting benefits of spending time on the water.

Book Your Hamble Taster Experience

Wetwheels Hamble welcomes individuals, families, carers, schools, charities and community groups throughout the year. Every trip is already subsidised through fundraising, helping make accessible boating available to as many people as possible.

From time to time, additional funding may be available to support those who need extra financial assistance. If you're unsure, the friendly team is always happy to discuss the options available.

Group organisers can also enquire about exclusive day bookings, providing greater flexibility with timings and the opportunity to enjoy multiple trips throughout the day.
