National Curry Week 2026

Celebrate the Best Curry in Hampshire

National Curry Week returns from 5–11 October 2026, celebrating the UK’s love of curry while encouraging people to support their local curry houses, restaurants and takeaways.

Whether your order is always a chicken tikka masala, you love trying regional Indian dishes or you prefer something with serious heat, this is the perfect week to discover somewhere new.

Here at What’s On Hampshire, we’ll be celebrating by shining a spotlight on some of our favourite curry restaurants in Hampshire and encouraging everyone to eat local.

When is National Curry Week 2026?

National Curry Week 2026 takes place from Monday 5 October to Sunday 11 October.

Now in its 28th year, the annual celebration puts curry firmly in the spotlight. It also helps support the restaurants and businesses that have made curry such an important part of Britain’s food scene.

National Curry Week also has a charitable focus, helping raise awareness and money for causes tackling poverty.

You can find out more about this year’s campaign through the official National Curry Week website.

Support Hampshire’s local curry restaurants

One of the easiest – and certainly tastiest – ways to celebrate National Curry Week is simply to go out for a curry.

Hampshire has some fantastic Indian, Nepalese, Bangladeshi and Asian restaurants serving everything from familiar favourites to dishes you might never have tried before.

You could book a table for a family meal, plan a curry night with friends or order a takeaway from an independent restaurant.

Better still, use National Curry Week as an excuse to try somewhere completely new.

The National Curry Week Cook-Off

National Curry Week 2026 also includes the Curry Cook-Off: World Tour.

Six digital creators will compete across a series of international food challenges inspired by India, Japan, Thailand and Jamaica, before taking on a Pan-Asian final.

The winner will secure a £1,000 charity prize, adding some friendly competition to this year’s celebrations.

Try something different this National Curry Week

We all have our favourite curry order, but this week is a great opportunity to move beyond your usual choice.

Ask your local restaurant what they recommend. Look for regional specialities, chef’s signature dishes or something you haven’t spotted on a menu before.

You could also have a go at making curry at home. Explore different spice combinations and try dishes such as methi chicken or karhi.

However you celebrate, make it a week for discovering new flavours.

Looking for the best curry in Hampshire?

If you’re searching for the best curry in Hampshire, Indian restaurants near you or simply somewhere different to eat this October, keep an eye on What’s On Hampshire.

We’ll be sharing some of our favourite local restaurants and places to eat throughout National Curry Week 2026 on our socials.

So, whether you’re planning a meal out, grabbing a takeaway or trying your hand at cooking your own curry, 5–11 October is the week to get involved.

Most importantly, it’s a brilliant opportunity to support Hampshire’s restaurants, discover somewhere new and celebrate one of the UK’s best-loved foods.
