A Creative Christmas Workshop in Winchester
Radiant Angel is part two of Lorna's Touched by an Angel Creative Workshop Series.
As winter arrives and Christmas approaches, the workshop explores ideas of light, warmth, connection and creativity.
You'll create a mixed media angel that can represent something personal to you. It could symbolise hope, remembrance, gratitude, protection, joy, someone special or even a much-loved pet.
Alternatively, you can simply enjoy making something beautiful!
Create Your Own Radiant Angel
During the workshop, you'll experiment with an exciting collection of materials and techniques.
These include:
Gold or silver imitation leaf
Acrylic and metallic paints
Beads, sequins and buttons
Glass gems and mirror pieces
Decorative wire
Charms
Ribbons and decorative fibres
Mixed media papers
Found objects
Texture and layering
Lorna will demonstrate different ways to combine and attach materials before you begin developing your own individual design.
There isn't one particular way your angel needs to look. You can experiment with colours, textures, shapes and objects to create something completely personal.
Add Something Meaningful
One particularly lovely part of this workshop is the opportunity to incorporate your own meaningful objects.
You are welcome to bring two or three small items from home. These could include an old brooch, broken jewellery, buttons, ribbon, a charm, shell or tiny keepsake.
They don't need to have any monetary value. Sometimes the smallest objects hold the biggest memories.
Inspired by Art and Creativity
The workshop takes inspiration from artists including Gustav Klimt, Cecil Collins and Andrew Logan, alongside symbolic art and contemporary assemblage.
You'll explore how artists use light, colour, reflective surfaces and everyday objects to communicate different ideas and emotions.
This isn't simply about copying an example. The aim is to experiment and create an angel that feels uniquely yours.
Who Is Radiant Angel For?
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and experienced artists alike.
It's particularly suited to anyone who enjoys colour, sparkle, mixed media or trying different creative techniques.
You don't need previous experience with painting, gold leaf or mixed media. Individual guidance is available throughout the session.
